Omega-3 and omega-6 balance

Both Omega-3 and Omega-6 are essential fatty acids that we need from our diet. The balance between omega-3 and omega-6 is essential for regulating the types of messenger molecules present in the body. An excess of omega-6 tends to form pro-inflammatory signaling molecules, while omega-3 forms anti-inflammatory signaling molecules. Increasing your intake of fatty fish or supplementing with omega-3 fatty acids is one way to restore balance.*

Why did we create O3L?

We created this product because fish oil can be taken in many ways; on a spoon, in a smoothie and so on. Not everyone likes to take capsules.

Ingredient history

The raw fish oil comes from wild-caught anchovies in the Pacific Ocean. Our fish is caught using FOS certified fishing methods, ensuring bycatch, environmental and sustainability ethics.

The anchovies used are caught very close to the coast and the factory that processes the oil is located just off the coast, which allows for a fast processing time and guarantees a fresher end product. Made with natural triglycerides, nature's natural form of omega-3 fatty acids.

We add medium chain triglycerides (MCT) from coconuts, which are very stable. Mixing fish oil with MCT is an innovative, safe and natural way to prevent oxidation in a liquid fish oil.

IFOS tests each batch for environmental pollutants, including heavy metals, PCBs, dioxins, furans and dioxin-like PCBs. These accumulate in fat and oil from fish can therefore contain these contaminants that can have negative health consequences. IFOS also measures oxidation and rancidity to ensure the fish oil is stable and fresh for consumption.

Instructions

The general recommendation is to aim for about 2-4 grams of omega-3 fatty acids, preferably in the form of EPA and DHA, per day. If you are a competitive athlete, a higher daily dose may be recommended to prevent inflammation, promote recovery and improve endurance. Contact your doctor if you think you need more.

It is best to take your fish oil with meals. You can choose whether to take your daily dose all at once or spread it out over the day.

Liquid fish oil is normally suitable for children aged 2 years and over. As with any dietary supplement, you should consult your healthcare practitioner before using this product.

Storage

Store your fish oil in the refrigerator. Omega-3 fatty acids react to light, heat and oxygen and can become rancid. Rancid fish oil based on the smell and taste should be discarded immediately.
